I think they are bobwhites. The person I got the eggs off of didn’t know what breed they were I hope they are bob white but they are so small still and they all have feathers growing on their heads that stick straight up
There are several color varieties of Coturnix, and some you can sex by chest feather colors while others need to be vent sexed or wait till they crow. It seems like you have several that are “wild type” which ARE feather sexable. Once they’re about 4-5 weeks old the males will have less spots on their chest feathers and the males will have more solid coloring. I am no expert, as I just started raising them myself in April.Ok at least I know the breed now how do I sex them or do they sex themselves at a certain point
See I knew youd know more than I do haha!I think they are bobwhites.
I’m not sure, but the beaks look off, the feathers on the head are a bit uprightish, and they have one dark stripe on the head, wild type cots have a V of dark stripes.See I knew youd know more than I do haha!
