I don't have scaled quail and have only had gambels as adults so im not a ton of help but the gambels i have had i raised with bobwhites in a large pen.cool birds!
 
I’m intrigued by your mystery haha. I’m also thinking possible California valley quail, based on pics.
 
I have that baby in with a pheasant chick and the pheasant protects it at all costs I try to touch the quail and the pheasant attacks me it is funny they are like 3 days apart and the quail is older than the pheasant
 
The all white egg babies didn’t make it
The speckeled eggs are either Gambel's or California Valley quail. From the pic I'd say they are Gambel's.
