Morning Dax, Would wrought iron fence stood on end work for fencing for goats? I think the spacing is 4 inch. Most pieces I'm getting is 6 feet long

Quote: You're right about the Paso; Peruvian. I remember having a conversation about it now.
Nothing wrong with the picture from where I sit. Looks like a nice, short back? Strong hindquarters.
I had a couple of Palomino's; a little mare & her 1st foal....Little Bit & Stormy. Unfortunately, they were both too small to lug my weight & all my gear around for half a day at a time... normally switched off to a fresh horse at lunchtime if I could.
Doe your Boer cross?

Mine are Peruvian Paso. I have heard the RM horses are pretty smooth with lots of go. Not to mention lots of flaxen manes and tailsYou've probably mentioned it before, but is the horse in your avatar by any chance a MFT? I've only ridden one, and only then for part of a day. I don't know how it compared to others of the breed; I just know it was comfortable. A bit different than the TWH's I'm familiar with, but still a pleasure to ride.
Sweet Banti! Nice looking horse. Enjoy your time. I miss my pretty boy everyday.Yep, he does have a very short back and lots of power. Nice for getting up and down hills, some of which are so steep he pretty much just has to plant his feet and slide in spots!
He is a very smooth ride, everyone loves him. He's the kind of horse that if you don't know what to do, drop the reins.

Do you have a picture? Do your goats have horns? You always have to account for if they can get their heads in and stuck. How high? Breed?Morning Dax,

Quote: One field trial course I rode pretty regularly, in Seven Valleys, PA, was pretty hilly in spots, with a killer hill. The TW's I had then, half brother & sister, always wanted to hit that hill as fast as they could. I tried to hold them back, but I guess it was easier on them than walking the steep grade.
My all-time favorite was a 15.3 mare; a real babysitter. She'd go about anywhere I pointed her nose. Only twice did she ever refuse, & when I looked closer, I had no business asking her to go in there to start with. I remember one time when a snake crossed the trail right under her belly; she never even flinched. I used to walk back & forth under her, just 'cause I could...showing off. Wasn't the brightest move I ever made; if she'd stomped from a horsefly she'd have knocked me senseless, or worse. I bred her 3 times; never could get a foal. If she caught at all, she'd abort early on.
