I'd spend $20 and get a good wafer thermostat and ditch the water heater thermostat. Just my 2c....

but these can be made to work if need be in a pinch just needs some foolin with and some hole drillin

Tis true, M'Lady... many have made do with such meager utensils. Just a suggestion that might hold a little tighter tolerance with temp fluctuations. Personally, I wouldn't use anything other than digital... but that's just because I'm super-rich and don't mind spending money hand-over-fist.

the light bulb is between the fan and the thermostat, all at the top of the frig, so the air blows from the bulb over the thermostat, I have thought about the waffer but was using what I had on hand, not ready for eggs yet Mama ( my wife ) says no and I kinda have to listen to her keeps her happy and me outta trouble (most of the time anyway)

see above post.... These have a lot of variance in temperature since it reads RADIANT heat directly from the light bulb or heat source. When we installed ours it was almost touching the light bulb. you will need to drill the thermostat and make adjustments to it. see how close to the light bulb and we still had variance... I purchase a wafer....

If you didn't install a double, I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU do two lights in one of these!!
THEY DO BLOW, and they blow your hatch could easily be lost!
