That reminds me. I need to stop lollygagging about the basement door. I need to either put a lock on it, or change the doorknob so I can unlock it from the cellar should I need to. Regardless, it needs to be baby proofed soon.

Can you keep or sell all of this?

I am planning on selling all but the fly tier, since all the others were my eggs. For the FULL brinseas, about half are my eggs - I'm selling those chicks, and on the bought eggs, I'll keep 2 or 3 of each breed, trying for a girl.

I am not allowed to have ANY chickens and I'm up close to 100 babies right now. But, I've walked all 3 of the streets that surround mine and have not been able to hear the roosters or the chickens, so I"m ok for right now.

Are you planning on breeding the fly tie? Where did you get yours?

I got them from Thespoiledchicken, over off the 24 hour egg auction page. As of right now, only 1 has hatched. They were all wiggling at lock down, so I'm hoping they are just slow. I know she doesn't actually use the feathers as fishing lures. So, I'm not sure the color or quality of the feathers for fishing. But her birds were beautiful! They are barred, black and silver it looked.

They are focusing on the forest in the west, while the fire is moving east?

Fires scare me.  I live in a valley, and a few years ago there were 2 separate fires that basically cut off all access to our valley.  Our hills are mostly chaparral, which grows, dies off, and needs to burn before it regrows. When it starts burning our firemen just do structure protection and let the hills burn.  They are better off after they burn.

Yes, they are focusing on the west, that's where most of the forest (fuel) is.
The local fire departments and residents to the east are dealing with fire breaks and wetting down fields.
If the fire progresses any further west at this point, it could concievably burst into an area 5-6 times what it is consuming right now.
While it has progressed eastward, the local resources are keeping the line at this point, so all heavy firefighting equipment is on the west front.

To see the size and scope of this fire is unbelievable.

What ChickenCanoe said. I used a large aquarium, they grow slow. Some people feed them hotdogs but people shouldn't eat store bought hotdogs Lol! Fresh fish caught with minnow trap. Turtle will set still head out until a fish rests on it's nose then BAM. If they chase them around they never catch them. Not a petting pet, it's unreal how fast they are when you least expect it, their head will about reach their tail backwards over their shell in a split second, faster than you can blink. Don't ever trust them.
They need something to climb out on dry out and warm up.
They need to be where sunlight will hit them near a window or use a UV/UVB light to get vitamin D, otherwise it's shell will deteriorate and it'll die.

From what I've read around day 20 is normal for chickens.
