Howdy Mike. Friend of mine has a lease in Ohio...not sure where...pulls at least one out every year

My worry with your adorable boy is that he is growing up with no fear of /respect for humans, and as an adult may become a human aggressive rooster.
Been there -done that

I never pet the boys for that reason
Not caught up yet, but didn't want to miss this quote/response:

You're absolutely right, and with the roosters I have, respectful distance works best - we understand each other. I usually keep my distance, especially the boys as they get older. Previously I was sitting in their tractor coop to get them used to me so I could care for them if injured (they were terrified of me for the first 5 weeks, in general, even though I did everything "right", e.g., no looming in brooder, etc.) - at which time they all became more friendly, but especially him. I stopped doing that a week or two ago. But I'm glad I got them used to me, because he let me tend him last night (including pulling out bleeding feather stubs) without having a melt down and hurting himself more.

He's not and won't be a pet, and I don't actually watch tv with him on a regular basis (I was watching to see if his hiney would bleed again before putting him to bed in the mudroom) - I was just trying to be amusing for the post.

its too lean for my taste sorry, grew up on it and now can afford beef so beef it is

I doubt it, you will need it smothered with spices, and I like my cow raw and mooing with salt and pepper only lol
Had backstrap for dinner last night. Cooked med on the grill with a light marinade to it but would have been good with just salt and pepper. Absolutely delicious.
