Two weeks later his friend hit a tree and died on his. sucks the kids still kept in touch from HS soccer buds even though in college, such a devastating event for everyone. 22 and carrying your friends casket to his grave is an eye opener in itself. I will have to mention here the next one Dustyn Bought one last year and I am not happy about that at all. But what can I do.

Bator must be running cool as this guy is very late. Was afraid it would not hatch. It has been so long since I hatched a pea egg. So excited!!

It is a special surprise for DD who is on her way back from college in UK.
Hopefully she won't already be too overloaded with animal stuff from college and will still be excited!!

Moose didn't have to correct me too much, and Clover had her best day yet, I actually got to go for a nice walk with Clover and the sheep for a bit.

Lockdown went well! Tossed one, 11 live n' kicking still. Yes, I think someone flipped the hot switch. I spent all day in upper eighties weather, in the sun..... I look like someone smeared strawberry icecream all over me. Ow, ow, ow, ow....... Even sunscreen only helped a bit.....

Congrats on the 16 from #2, and the 17 from #1.  I can never tell the chicks apart, so I'm going to try to separate the hatching eggs next time!!

I have an LG that doesn't do the things yours does.  Or at least it hasn't.  How long have you had yours?  I hope your eggs are ok!

Good morning all!  I candled my Serama's, and only 2 of the 6 were still viable. They are on day 11.   Not sure what happened. I left them in anyway....

I'll be candling everything else sometime this afternoon.  Let's hope the rest are doing a little better!!!

The other batches are on day 7 and day 14. (And there will be another batch that starts day 1 as soon as there is room)!

prayers for the family, this makes me want to cry, i think about this all the time because of the little town we live in it could very easily happen

Nah, my sister lives in a suburb. Just hang out, enjoy seeing her and the kids, and my bil will drive me back to the airport to fly home Tuesday morning.

Golly, it's slow! So... some pictures.

Here's the EHAL boys' growout tractor coop, renovation in progress (added bedding, but needed to swap out the tarp, add shade cloth, and add a roosting platform that proved hard to measure and fit in the existing structure due to the angles of the conduit).



After several trims and fits, I got the roosting platform in place FINALLY, with Gorilla tape over the seam. Added Sweet PDZ, hung the feeder and waterer chains, and then gave up for the night.



THIS is what happens when it rains uncontrollably and you've been too busy with chicken stuff to tend the front of your house. Beauty berry, roses, rangoon creeper, hoja santa, lemon balm and chile pequins all vying for the right to take over my house. Roses currently about 7-8 feet high, beauty berry is up to about 14 ft. There's also mouse melon that is growing as a weed and actually attempting to crawl through the door - had to beat it and the lemon balm back today...

Finally, can't remember if it was here where I asked about fly control. I got the FlyStick, recommended by someone. Works great, but you know how they warn that it's so sticky it can also catch/stick to small birds? Um, yeah...


Trying to work my way thorough my freezer inventory to make sure I get to anything that's older - found some locally made German bratwurst rattling around in there, so that's for dinner with homemade cheese and mustard. Yum!!!!!

It's going great!! Got 102 colored meat birds on Thursday and they are all doing good and have 80 something eggs due to hatch today.
