Thermometers are not like old stoves. They don't say low, medium, high. They have precise digital numbers. Mine, for instance, reads 99.6 on the eggshell.

What does yours say if you take the temperature of the middle of the side of the egg? In the area highlighted on the picture?



When you change the temperature setting on your incubator, it will take a few hours for the egg to reach its new temperature inside and out. Don't make changes based on what happens in 5 or 15 minutes.

Had a box full of dead cream legbars show up today. USPS only missed their guaranteed delivery date by 6 days.......

There's no excuse for something like that, right? I mean, you can't miss a box full of peepers & cheepers just sitting there! Someone had to have noticed!

I just caught up here, but now I'm out of time and need to go back outside! It may look like I'm sitting at the computer all the time and lurking, but that's just cuz it's always on with this page up. I only get to read to catch up in short spurts until I'm going to bed.

The mind reading/cloning bator is holding temp great. Slowly getting the humidity worked out and figured out a way to turn the eggs without opening it.

10 Serama eggs doing well still in the R-com.

@Scovy Momma I know how little those three eggs are, but they look huge in your tiny incubator! How big is that thing? What are the numbers on those eggs?

I can't wait to see that monster cloning bator in action! If it's actually a shrink ray bator, you can make those bantam Ameraucana beardy birds even tinier with ittier bittier pretty blue eggs!
Are the 10 serama eggs yours or the shipped ones? R-Coms look nice...

It's about the size of a large bagel. I will have to look at the numbers on the eggs when I get home, but I think they're S8 (or 3)or 58(or 3), I'm not sure. I'll check. G'Night hun!

I have yet to hatch a detached air cell egg. I have attempted...but failed

My little serama had an air cell that looked like a bubble level all around the egg. She ended up with a saddle air cell after it sat in the incubator for a while, but my tiny incubator stands the eggs up on end so it might have helped for her to grow in like that.

My eggs shipped yesterday! Seramas galore!! Haha

O M G these three bators fans are going to make me pass out!! the hum of them is putting me to sleep!!!

I have my incubator on, because my shipped eggs supposed to get here tomorrow or wednesday. I got my eggs from my friend today... They are all so small, My other friend and I are splitting the dozen that she gave, I can only keep less than four, but she lives very close so she is going to incubate the ones I can't fit in my incubator. I candled the ones my friend gave me... The air cells are so freaking tiny... a little smaller than a dime in a serama egg. But anyway the incubator is in my bedroom and is is such a soothing noise. That is why I really like the incubators with fans
