And we have a winner! Scotty, tell her what she won!!!

Qwerstion... I candled last night (day 21 for ducks, day 14 for chicks) I have never seen such a disparity in growth. Air cells all seem decent, and weight loss is fine, but chick/duckling growth looks varied. One duckling looks like it's about ready to internally pip! Very full. Some of the chicks look far along, and some seem behind. I'm bumfuzzled.

4 different breeds, but different development per breed, so... ???
Steady Brinsea bator, so its not hot spot issues.
No broodys started incubating them before collection.
All eggs were under 10 days old.

What else would cause this?

Young layers could be an issue. All mommas are young.

Well, if it's any consolation, I am still waiting on my two 'tardy' little boogers that I 'accidentally' dropped in the bator a few days later than my weekend arrivals. :caf
Great hatch on your part !

Are they in the new brooder that you built?
They are. It has the divider in (left of feeder) for now, and when they get bigger I can slide it out and double the space. So far they're only using 1/2 of 2' x4' section. Won't be long before they travel the full 4 feet to the front... lol! They seem very happy in it... they barely make a peep!
