I would get rid of the rooster, you have kids and more on the way, time for him to go

I didn't because I was kind of in panic mode and my brain shut off.

That and I'd have to spend time wrestling with youtube and the touch screen in the house, and I dunno if it would even play after all that due to the fact the coop is out of internet range. Would have made for great entertainment though if anyone was watching me.

Good morning guys. I caught up

If any of you are good with BBS Ameruacana would you look at my thread to help with gender guesses? I find it ironic that I got four of them I kept this time hoping for a cockerel or two to choose from, and two I know are pullets, and only one of the other two seems possible, Whereas on the breed I wanted pullets I got 75% cockerels.

I always was wrong telling sex with mine.

TINY Sappy spots possibly due to Rough Shipment of EGGS​

Then if it dont stink let it in, but I would separate it and not let chicks climb on that egg either

I ended up taking it out last night.  I scraped the spots off  and candled one last time, and felt this weird "thud" as I rolled the egg slowly trying to see in it.  The air cell that I had marked on day 14 could not even be seen, and I just decided not to compromise all of the eggs, since my brinsea mini advance is too small to move it away from the other eggs really.  That "thud" rolling around in there alarmed me to take it out.  I did NOT open it to look inside though.  Didn't want to know if I took out a live chick!


In other news, I let my 6 week old chicks out for a few minutes last night to free range with the big girls, and out of nowhere one of the big girls attacked my little rooster chick, I thought I would never catch the chicks, they ran in every which direction trying to get away from the crazy hen! 

I don't think I woulda opened it either, oh dang hen!

Thank you for the advice. I was excited about the broodiness this go around as to where times past I've always been able to successfully break it. After this I think I have decided that it will be awhile before I go about it this way in the future.

I've got 5 broodies setting right now. This will not end well. I'm going to have to remove the remaining hens and rooster if it stands a chance. I tried to stop the first one from setting when I came back in the afternoon two more started and now it's at five with differing hatch times. Some only have one egg. Going to have to some rearranging this weekend
