Hmmm ... I may use those methods to catch my ducks! Jk, lol! They're not scovies, so they don't scratch that bad, but it still hurts!

Ouch! Hope that heals up fast!

Hi Hatching Gurus! I hope you don't mind me jumping on to ask questions during my first hatching experience. I've tried to keep up with your guys's posts, but given my life currently, I can't keep up! I literally have over a thousand unread posts in just a few nights! Wowzer!

Today is day 10 in the bator for my BR eggs. I received 6 shipped eggs. 2 didn't make it. 4 are very active and moving like crazy with lots of veining continuing to develop. I am worried about the air cells though. I do have wonky shaped air cells due to shipping, but according to the information Sally posted, I feel like the air cells are developing too fast. I have not weighed. I have been dry incubating, but yesterday I added a small amount of water due to it being so hot here and running the A/C constantly for a week. My Hygrometer is just what came with the LG so, I can't trust it at such a low humidity, but its been at 45-50%.

Can I get someone's advice on what to do with the air cells and whether I should add some more humidity. First line is 7 days, second line is today at day 10. They were set the morning of June18th.

Looks like you've definitely been running a little too dry. Those look like my day 18 BR eggs. You should jack the humidity up and keep them from growing any more. I'd recommend no less than 50% RH. Check them again on day 14 to see if you've slowed the process. If they are still growing, raise the RH even higher. You'll want those air cell to not be much bigger on day 18... lockdown. Best of luck, and keep us posted.

PS: Before you incubate any more eggs, be sure to test the hygrometer for accuracy. There's a simple salt test that will verify it's accuracy. Many hygros are adjustable, so check to see if yours is one of them.

PSS: It's always a good idea to have an extra hygrometer and thermometer. There are several types of thermometer/hygrometer combos that aren't too expensive. I have 4 Incutherm Plus units, and they work great.

Oww! :hugs

Hope they heal well....

Thank you

Hope they heal up quick for you.

:( Banti gave me a hug to make the ouchie go away!
It's not a antibiotic, seals protects, relieves pain and itching, heals super fast even bad wounds.
Believe it or not raw honey is also medically proven awesome for wounds, I've never tried honey though, seems odd. I just want to eat it. :-D

LOL

I like vetricyn

I wonder if that is okay to use for humans. I already have that!

Thank you. I know that my Pekins are not hard to catch at all.
