He had no problem at my other house, but when we decided to move here for the property (half an acre at the other house, a full acre and the coop already built here) he began itching up a storm! I keep thinking he is allergic to cats.I am sure it is some plant that is growing here, but I just don't know what. He is put on steroids of one kind or another, sometimes two (well, the old vet did). That used to clear him up. When the itching continued into the winter this past year, the new yuppie vet didn't want to give him anything. He had to be put on a steroid for bronchitis, but that did not help at all (they said it would, and it really should have). They said to give him Benadryl.
I keep calling, and explaining that it is not working. I don't have a plethora of vets to choose from either!
Sounds just like my girl! Does he not eat well? She didn't until put on the fish and sweet tater diet. First bowl full she dove right in! Then pigged out and has since. Dang on the vet, sounds like you need to ask if it's possible to treat him another way. If that doesn't work give him some of the MC attitude just don't smack him please no matter how tempting!
