It isn't complicated. If they're baby chicks, you can just use feed as bedding and let them eat whatever is at their feet.
A bowl or some dish will work. If people don't hatch frequently, I don't recommend people buy a chick feeder because they'll make use of it for such a short time. Just move them to an adult feeder.
