Morning!!! I set my alarm for later (to catch up on a little sleep), but there's a full moon and Tank decided to serenade it at 5:45am. When I'm super tired I sleep through all of it, but this morning I couldn't so I'm up. Gotta get weights on the remaining cockerels today - it's always a chore, they don't like to be caught/handled. Then I have coop cleaning, which I need to do now while it's still cool (forecast of 101F, so I've got until about 11 or so before it gets uncomfortable). Washing out waterers later in the day, and repotting some plants if I can get organized.

I also have cleaning to do inside, and two fridges to clean out/wipe down (they've gotten a bit grungy and I think some stuff has gotten shoved to the back that needs to be tossed).

Finishing my coffee, then getting to it. Have a great day, all!!!

Sheesh! Busy much?
Try to have a good day!

Hello, I have been on here on and off to ask qustions from the most knowledgeable people when it comes to hatching eggs. (Sorry for bad grammar I don't feel like commas and periods and fighting auto correct lol) I have a call duck egg in the incubator right now and it it's parents are show quality meaning they have small beaks. The most exsperinsed hatchet of this quality of calls recently moved to the other side of the country and another I know is successful due to his ability to assist in hatching but I want to be very careful as this duckling would mean a lot if it hatched. I will assist if nessary but I wan to avoid it and in this very long and irrelevant story the qustion is are ducks the same on chickens (other than dates) when It comes down to assisted hatching? And can someone post a thread about assisting in a hatch?

Your answers will be found in the notes, starting on page 1 of this thread. Good luck!

Yes, they are the same. I know because I did it two months ago. As Kwhites said, you can find the assisting notes on the first page. They are well marked, so you should not have trouble finding them.

@wesgef9 When the day comes, if you are assisting, we will talk you through it. When someone tells you to go to the notes, just say thank you, but I have already read them (if you have. Please do). We will talk you through. Pictures will help us.
One thing I think is important. Assisting is harder if you are nervous. Duckling helped a chick out before she was two. She was holding it, and she was taking pieces of shell off. She didn't know to worry. She just thought it was cool!

:he I left the spigot on for quite a while yesterday, and it leaks. I tried to not worry about it, but I very much am now! I put an empty 5 gallon bucket under the spigot while I was filling the waters and watering the garden. In the 10 minutes I was using the hose, the bucket was overflowing.
I think there is something very wrong with my city water line. I have two leaky faucets in the house, and a leaky spigot. Bad water pressure in the toilet, and I often lose pressure in the shower as well. The faucets and spigot/hose issues have all been worked on recently. It has to be a city water problem. I think keeping the well would have been less troublesome!

Good morning or late morning or afternoon everyone. :frow
