Question of the Day - Sunday, November 30th, 2025

I get poison ivy BAD! I’ve had it on my face twice (once in like middle school and the other time was earlier this year) and had to go on steroids both times. This last time I was put on antibiotics too cause it got infected. NOT. FUN. The steroids were literally the worst thing I have ever tasted in my entire life LOL also, for those who are NOT allergic to, be aware that that CAN change. My friend never used to be allergic EVER, like could roll in the stuff and be fine, but finally got and found a small patch right before I got mine. So yeah.

Also, I’m technically “allergic” to metformin and Jardiance (two diabetes medications) or at least the hospital I was at I think last year or the year before put that as an allergy so they wouldn’t give it to me anymore. Because I get severe migraines and vomiting every single time I have either. I ended up in the hospital after starting the Jardiance and was very dehydrated (probably from all the vomiting) and happened to have some ketones in me too, not quite diabetic ketoacidosis I don’t think, but close.

As far as actual, anaphylactic type allergies? Luckily I happen to have NONE at least as far as I know.

So yeah.

I think I'm allergic to poison ivy; I haven't had any in many years. It's all over here, but I know to avoid it.

I'm sensitive to gluten. Not celiac level, thank goodness. My issue is it makes my shins itch. Like get a Brillo pad and scratch the skin off, itchy.

I once broke out in hives when I was in high school, but we never figured out why.

I've gotten hives off and on for years but no known cause, despite years of testing. I don't know about ivy, oak, or sumac. Don't know if I've ever touched it, I try to stay away. I am allergic to penicillin, so are my triplet sisters, we all developed the allergy later in life

No, i actually used to play with the poison ivy leaves that grow around the property as a kid, never had a reaction. I get nasty seasonal allergies in spring but that's about it

Don't think I'm allergic to poison ivy. I've never really had it. Not allergic to latex but I may have tried to use that excuse before. No, just kidding.
I have a real issue with almost all metals touching my skin for a period of time. No jewelry. Can even have a belt with a belt buckle. Mostly no metal frame sunglasses. No issue with surgical steel piercing though
