Put the 3-months old kids in with the adults. Rooster paid them no mind whatever; a couple of the hens herded them all over the yard. Come bedtime a hen parked herself in the doorway & wouldn't let the youngsters into the coop. Finally put a wire dog crate inside the run & locked the youngsters in it. It's not exactly coon/weasel tight should one manage to get inside the run, which never has happened, as far as I know. If one does, they can easily reach between the wires of the dog crate. Don't know what I'll find come morning, but I was out of options for tonight.

Here's to another attempt to send you a message. I've been trying for 10 minutes now. First did not go through.

Out of 23 birds I kept 2. 6 processed yesterday and the rest today. All in Camp Fridge for the week on salt.

It's 103 out there in the shade. Where I processed at seemed to be cooler.

I think you're my hero. I couldn't do that on a day like this.

Weird even though it BYC said it did not send it obviously did. Was getting ready to try again.

Hydrating as we type have been all day. Need to feed and collect eggs first then done. Well I still have to get decorative bird houses up.

I wonder if the eggs sitting out there for a day qualifies as pre-storage incubation. My guess is , yes.

Sorry y'all had rough days. I came home from church and grocery shopping for my dad to discover that his air conditioner went out. Ugh it was 98 degrees inside. So not a fun day.
