This short post is better to quote than the novel above...I actually do prefer Home Depot; their prices are pretty much identical, and the associates are at least as knowledgeable as those at Lowes, but Lowes is on the other side of town and traffic is heavier, with more lights, while Lowes, comparatively, is just around the corner. Given as many trips as I make to either of the two, Lowes just makes more sense.

I usually go to Menards.....they tend to be a little cheaper than LOWES.
But LOWES does give Veterans a 10% discount.

Our Lowe's and Home Depot are very close to each other and we have no issues with getting to either one of them. We often compare prices at both stores before we buy anything big. We definitely prefer Home Depot for most things but when it comes to lumber and building, Lowe's seems to be a little cheaper.

Good morning Whites! That makes a lot of sense, I'd go to the one easiest to get to, also.

This is what she currently looks like, and every stick of it has come from Lowes. You can see the 1st truss in place, with 4 more leaning against the front wall. There's another, partially finished, on the deck, for a total of 6 of the 9 required. The material leaning against the left rear corner represents all the screw-ups I've made along the way, but I've been able to use a good bit of it as bracing in the trusses, where I'd normally be using 2x4's. You see the terrain I'm having to deal with; gangs & gangs of fun!

Another angle I shot last night. I may live long enough to get it finished; the jury's still out!
