Hi sweets!
very pretty sweets verrrrrryyyy pretty!

Something interesting I just put together in my head. My Dom eggs were collected over a 9-10 day time period, 8/27-9/5. The one that was/is clear was/is one of the two oldest eggs in the group laid on 8/27. I wonder if it's age had anything to do with it's clearness.

The reason for candleing before setting them is to check the condition of the aircells. To see if any of the eggs need special treatment.
Oh, I know that. (which is why i'm going to try to get my hubby to check for me.) I don't know how you guys take pictures of eggs being candled. But i'm glad the pictures exist, because it's the only reason I knew we had 2 viable eggs out of the 6, and 1 managed to hatch!

Although.... once the chick filled the entire egg... we couldn't see crap anymore the egg shell from our chicken was so thick. I was almost afraid she wouldn't be able to get out!

We never could see a heart beat, or any of the more obvious signs of life. We saw veins, and then the egg got completely dark besides the aircell. (But, since the changes were drastic, every few days, I figured the egg was viable.)

I'm really not sure what i'm looking at though, even after looking at pictures of other eggs, I just don't have enough experience yet.

Candler and egg held with one hand, camera with the other.... Bit tricky, but doable.
