Ok... There is a funky smell coming from the incubator that has eggs waiting to pip, and a chick who pip'd n hatched too early(in a cup with a wet paper towel wrapped around her)... It doesn't smell like death or rotting, but it's a kinda metallic smell with extra funk. It's getting stronger as the day goes on... Is that just from the earlier hatchlings? Or is that the beginning of an egg gone bad? I have had a black yolk during eggtopsy, so I know that smell, this isn't really that... My other incubators smell a tiny bit like this also, but for lack a better description, smokey like... Describing smells that you've never encountered before is hard :-/

Yes, thank you for reminding me! Kera Ferri is the breeder. She is a member of the Ameraucana Breeder's Club. I found her on the facebook page "Real Ameraucana Marketplace". I look forward to seeing how the chicks from her hatching eggs grow out.

They should be fine. Some folks hatch refrigerated eggs with no problems

For real? How long is too long in the fridge before hatch rate declines significantly?

I can't believe it! ALL TEN EGGS HATCHED! They were shipped eggs, this was my first ever hatch, and all ten hatched. I am walking on clouds!

Love those puffy cheeks!
