Lol, it would say "have a vet do a fecal and prescribe a treatment". So much to consider... type of worm(s), ability of owner to weigh bird and do math, withdrawal times, etc... There is no easy answer.

Do you offer a cliff notes version of this book? :p

I'm anxiously awaiting my new incubator.... so exciting :p It should be here tonight.

:fl

Exactly!  Australia and Canada don't have an issue with it, so maybe we shouldn't either?

-Kathy

Sounds like we shouldn't. Do you know where the EU stands on this?

Those pages from her book I found using ebooks, so I would need to buy a copy to do it properly. And those are from her 2nd edition, which I think is the most recent.

The UK has different tolerances and different wormers. They have a zero day for flubendazole, and Fenbendazole when fenbendazole is given at very low doses for five days in a row. Found a good PDF on the various countries and their withdrawal... Need to find that.

I find it very head scratching that different developed countries have different withdrawal periods for the same type of medications.

While we're at it, do you have the info for sevin dust on chickens? People keep telling me there's a lifetime withdrawal period, but I can't find that information myself. The closest I've gotten was "a vet told me."

your welcome, the support I had was amazing, and for them to continue to help the others is priceless!! I have to laugh at the way I felt about processing, how doing it and realizing how dumb you have been is seriously laughable!! Its sweet though, I know what not to name chicken wise and who not to make friends with

The chicken is amazing fresh!!
Good morning everyone!! I just saw this video and ALMOST felt bad for the little boy. I as NOT this bad with the ones we processed, but my DM wouldn't eat them.

There is a vet on BYC that keeps saying "forever", but does not go into detail, so i bet that's where they heard it. Same vet also says similar things about other drugs that *can* be used, so take it with a grain of salt (same vet said Baytril was banned for used in *all* food animals, which is *not* true... poultry yes, but it is approved for use with restrictions in cattle and swine). The active ingredient, carbaryl, used to be on the list of "approved" pesticides, i think, but it's not now, and I'm not sure why.
