I don't have time for that right now - but these will be babies. Day old poults/ducklings shipped next week. I wanted to make my life easier, and hoped they could just eat the same feed. I wasn't sure if the 28% protien in turkey feed, would hurt them if I used it until the turkey's were big enough to switch over to an all flock feed.

I just wrote an article today for a client, about all the health benefits of beer.

I wish I could have one. My local walmart doesn't sell the gluten-free beers... so you'll have to drink one for me.

Makes sense. I guess getting a second brooder will have to work. My husband is SO going to kill me

Biggest I ever had was 15.2, which got awfully tall after a day of mounting and dismounting at a field trial, or when I had to mount from the downhill side. Fortunately I trained them all to accept mounting or dismounting from either side

i've never had a horse that cared which side one mounted from, granted i still always do it from the left but ya know

My neighbor kids I play with growing up, lost their mom to a motorcycle accident... in a parking lot, with a helmet on. They hit a rock and she fell off the bike going like 10mph. She hit her head on the ground in just the right way and it killed her instantly.

Motorcycles terrify me. It also doesn't help that my mom also hit a motorcyclist at a stop sign because she didn't "see" him fast enough when she came around the corner and saw the stop sign. She slammed on her breaks, and luckily for him, she just knocked him over into the ditch with out loss of life....

But, that was enough for me to realize that motorcycles aren't work the risk of life and limb.

They have benefits too.

I use a dog crate once I don't need to use the brooder lamp, and I use big round water horse bowls for the brooder for the chicks when it needs a light on it.

yep, i used all sorts of stuff, but i like that cardboard is easily disposed of
i just put an old babygate over the top to keep them in it

youll find the turkeys outgrow the brooder very quickly

I use a metal gate for a fireplace that we had laying around. I have baby gates too, that I used but the metal fire place works better. I found the chicks could push the baby gates around and escape out the sides. LOL

also if oyu put the niacin in the water, will that hurt the baby chicks if they drink the same water?

i wouldnt think the extra b vitamins would hurt the chicks, but i have no clue
