Quote: Turkey starter has more niacin than chick starter.

That could cause problems because the cultures are used to the animal protein.CC you are right about the US Canada and Europe, but what will do countries that are based on live stock as primary food source?
Mongolia? Kazakhstan? Tajikistan? All the country of the Arabian peninsula? I can count also Argentina and Uruguay, all of this pepole will HAVE to grow plants, or let someone else to grow for them.
No. The different species need different protein and vitamin mixes.I don't want to buy 20 bags of feed. Is there something I can feed them both, that will work for the turkeys, too?
Big difference between chick feed and game bird feed and I don't think either have the extra niacin.I'm trying to figure out, if I get a poult feed, if I can feed it to the ducks. I know ducks need extra niacin, if I gave a chick feed, so what's the difference if I use a turkey feed???![]()
No they won't pick the right food.If I put both feed in there, will they eat the right food? I don't have a brooder setup to split the poults up from the ducks.
Probably won't hurt to have more vitamin B.also if oyu put the niacin in the water, will that hurt the baby chicks if they drink the same water?
I was told this morning if I build the runs any bigger my lady said she would leave, gonna miss her
Quote: I tried several times to "swing up" into a saddle (before I knew how dangerous western saddles are), but I never made it. Too bottom heavy, I guess. Even tried swinging my right leg backward before swinging it forward, for more momentum. All I ever accomplished was kicking the poor horse in the flanks.
Quote: Nope, they'll eat the one they like better.![]()

but would the extra protein be bad for the chicks, and ducks? would this cause the ducks to get angel wing?Turkey starter has more niacin than chick starter.
-Kathy
Quote: I would not recommend this. Many thousands of dollars have been invested by feed companies in figuring out the correct nutritional requirement for poultry, so best to stick with something made for that species.

Quote: That and there are other things, like proper ratios of calcium, phosphorus, D, E, selenium, etc.

Quote: Mine all get 27% turkey and they are fine.
-Kathy
Quote: I know that people say that, but I have raised several hundred ducks on turkey starter and haven't had any issues with angel wing.![]()
