Also, apparently I am "the meanest mommy I ever knew" because my daughter asked me if she could eat my frosty that's in the freezer, and I said no. LOL

AND my new incubator is here... score.

So, I have a old fashion thermometer that I was using in my brooder, I wanted to soak it in bleach to clean it for the next week, and double check the temp settings.... bleach shouldn't hurt it, right?

Hurry get it plugged in and gather as many eggs as you can. :lau

I'm trying to figure out, if I get a poult feed, if I can feed it to the ducks. I know ducks need extra niacin, if I gave a chick feed, so what's the difference if I use a turkey feed??? :hmm
poults need a grower feed, very high protein 28%
ducks need 22% protein
chicks are 18-20%

i would buy the medicated chick starter for the chicks and ducks, though the ducks will need added niacin (brewers yeast) you can add it to their feed or water, i add it to their water

buy the poults their own feed

If I put both feed in there, will they eat the right food? I don't have a brooder setup to split the poults up from the ducks.

HAha, if I get a second brooder, to keep the poults and ducks separate, so they can each have their own feed, my husband may just shoot me.

Oh well, better to just buy what I need and ask to be forgiven instead of asking permission.

also if oyu put the niacin in the water, will that hurt the baby chicks if they drink the same water?
