I've got a hona cockerel with a swollen eye. I don't see lesions from fowl pox, and everything else seems fine. Isolate and saline flush?

Yes and he will need antibiotic, baytril injection is a good option

Good Day, everyone! Hope your's has gone well so far!

So, 27 weeks ago I bought 3 Gold Sex Links and got the first egg 8 weeks ago. Large pullet egg. Wish I'd taken a pic but did not. Subsequent eggs were smaller and rounder, more typical of pullet eggs, but still good sized.
The other 2 started laying soon after and nearly every day since. One is also roundish but starting to "ovalize" while #3's eggs have always been longer and, well egg shaped.
Today #1 layed a HUGE egg! I had to dust off the camera!
This is a carton for Jumbo eggs as this egg would not fit down inside large or Xlarge carton. The egg below is the size #1's usually are. The egg to the right is the size of her 1st egg 8wks ago. (I had written on calendar "same size as Lucy's")

All of these eggs are much darker, flash washed color out. Egg on upper right is from a 21 month old hatchery RIR. Pretty impressed with these GSLs so far! Less so with Lucy (RIR).
Anyhow, that's my exciting news for the day.

Turkeys! Loved my Bourbon Reds! They would talk to me if I whistled the "Sesame Street " theme song, but were otherwise quiet unless there was danger or a visitor.
:tongue

 at least I let you out.

Yep. Bottled tap water. Now you know why I don't do bottled water, unless I do the bottling. DW keeps them in business, though; I should buy stock.

I don't drink botted water either... When I've got all I need coming from my own backyard, why spend cash on something I already got?

Is this for incubating chicks and other related topics only?

Scuse me while I laugh.....

Welcome to the madhouse....

Hi All!!  Wow, 6K pages behind!  I hope everyone is happy and healthy!  I'm sure I've missed lots of hatching eggs, birthing of goats and things!  Congrats!

I only had 1 egg hatch out of the dozen I got from my eggs - the roosters were too young, before they were taken out.  I called all the local feed stores and the youngest chicks I found were 3 weeks old.  I had to buy 2. My baby chick and the 2 3 week olds did FINE for 4 days, day 5, I found my baby dead.  I greatly dislike the 2 new babies. :barnie

But, I have a processing question.  We have found tons of videos on how to Kill, De-feather and gut them, but the videos stop.  I want to freeze a bunch.  Do I have to let them sit in the fridge for a few days before I freeze them?   We are boiling one of them for soup.  But, can we throw the others straight into the freezer?

Thanks!

Hey!! :frow
