about having a llama?

Llama's are mean. And they spit. :p

One of my baby turkey's tried to eat my fingers this morning, the snot.
Mean???? I have two and after three years, I have only had one spot once, but we hand sheered him, gave him a shot, and went for his second shot at which point he spit. Otherwise, never.

I brought her home Friday over a hundred miles. She came out of the cage overmy shoulder and fled. I have only seen her briefly in the morning when I feed. I can't figure out an open enough trap to get her. I may need to buy a bunch of cattle panels. She is wild as a March hare and twice as warry. I have to get her before the coyotes do.
good luck catching her.

My male billy hates me no matter what food i've used to bribe him with.

I've had a couple neighbors over the years who've had llamas, and the things were pretty ornery to everyone, including them lol so maybe i just haven't met a nice one yet.

Quote: Good luck! Hope you can corral her. Cattle panels should do the trick, if she'll go in.

Hi!!  I'll try to come back more often!  Real life seems to take over sometimes!  The chick was healthy and strong for the first 4 days by itself.  Then it was good for the next 4 with the big guys.  It looked to me that it had been squashed.  So, the big guys overwhelmed it.  But, that's life!   We're only freezing since we are processing 6.  We've done 4, 2 more to go, but we're going to do them tomorrow.  It's getting too warm outside today.

Thanks MC!!  We're going to experiment.  Since we have several - we'll freeze some immediately and chill some first.  I'll let you know how it goes!

The key is they are not to be pets. I feed him with the others, and let him be. I occasionally, will scratch briefly, but only as I walk past. They are there to guard, and prefer to be left alone. For guardians, you don't want them like a pet.

Wiley Coyote?
Speaking of which, I recently saw someone using the box on a stick trap. It is something I want to try!
:/ I wonder what kind of bait I should use for Duckling? Live or food? :gig

I think like any other animal, you have to get the right stock. I have known people that own dogs that they called guard dogs. The dogs had to be put away whenever company came. That is not a guard dog. That is an untrained dog that bites anyone it doesn't know. :barnie
Of course, people are afraid of roosters because of mean ones.
