Anyway. My parents for months were telling me that I couldn't hatch. And now its cold outside and someone offered to pay me for a hatch and suddenly we have the next 5 hatches planned out. I'm not complaining. Sooo many babies.

I HAVE ANOTHER CHICK!!! That makes 2 now. I haven't noticed any other pips yet but the 4 year old found the last one.

Whatever eggs dont hatch by Wednesday will be tossed. After that I have a dozen blue slate turkey eggs going in with a dozen pekin duck eggs. I'll be putting in some EE, buff orp, SLW, and mixed eggs in a week later so everything hatches together.

I keep checking the calendar blasssttt it still not the 1st yet (stomps feet) and my favorite fishing hole had people in it today, don't them peoples know I fish there (grin)

My 7 BR eggs go into lockdown on Wed... if it matters.

it matters but so many of us are set for New years I didnt bother with us

its going to be chaos, when that NYD hatch starts people will be flocking for help. So get ready. And we will barely notice our own hatches. I will get emails from fb and here and I would assume on this thread at some point now that its here.

Afternoon folks! Cleaning up my parents' house, bit of a mess.

Yeah Sally, the lil'uns have been crawling all over me since I got here. Three of my cousins went and had babies so I've been meeting them. Two girls and a boy! It's exciting having babies around again. Dogs and chickens are great but nothing beats a little human in the house.

I just caught up reading again but now have to go back to the barn and trim horse feet. Nothing falling from the sky here but it's about 30 degrees. Nippy North wind.

Soooo.....wondering if I should take advantage of my broody Silkie and slip some Serama eggs under there.....

Speaking of Broody and Seramas...I have a Serama on a few eggs and yesterday I threw some grapes in that pen. The little broody grabbed one and rolled it under her!

It's funny, I would never expect anyone to keep track of how many eggs are hatching. I'm having trouble tracking my own. It's funny, but we did explode an egg - one of my shipped ones. We put 7 under a broody hen, she broke a few. There was one chick that hatched dead under her. We took one of them and tapped it to open it and it EXPLODED - hit all 3 of us in the room, hit the ceiling, the walls and the floor. It STUNK.

I didn't want to repeat the experience. If I ever open another egg, it will be outside!!

I have 3 babies ACTIVELY pecking at the little chick that is trying to hatch. Are they helping or hurting?

Ok so an update on my life problem.
The pair that had moderate lice have barely any! The one roo who had a severe case be has a moderate case!! The stuff I ordered should come soon and then I will give them a bath in lice shampoo and put the cream all over them. So far it is under control and not spreading

We've got a Khaki Campbell hen in a dog crate in our bathroom off of the garage. She acts like she dislocated or broke a leg. Not sure as I feel nothing out of the norm. So she's got a nice hotel for a day or two to see if she improves.

awww the poor thing, wish I coulda fixed my roo hope its nothing and she waddles out just fine.

Got Cemani's hatching and I saw 2 pips in the CLB hatcher for tomorrow.

One of my Roos just started crowing today. Nonstop. It is so funny though, sounds like he has a squeaky toy in his mouth!

you should hear HarmonyAnns coops! ha ha ha sounds like the dogs are playing with toys!

Hallo all! Day 15 and my eggies are looking great! Only 5 more days or 6. Though I'm prediciting "early" chicks.

Last year I was still in the truck with my husband. I told him I was going to hook up the incubator in the truck. This was his reaction.





And half an hour ago, I took a cold shower. Is this the correct way?

Toot toot! Quick look at day 3. 28/36 are definitely growing, the others are either too dark or too soon for me to tell. I can see how this stuff can easily become addicting.
