I looked at the 9300 when I was shopping for an incubator... and very quickly looked the other way. Even with the fan, it wasn't getting very good reviews. I'd buy a HovaBator, or even an FI, any day before I'd spend money on this LG.

CH needs to save up his money and buy a good incubator that'll help eliminate a lot of the headaches he's experienced...

At least a Genesis.

I want one.

im always paranoid that the thermometers are off ugh

That's why you calibrate them and get 2 or 3 thermos and hygrometers in the bator in case one goes wonky during incubation...
Ravyn is right, I use a minimum of two digital and one mechanical thermos on my bators. the mechanical one is just for old times sake, and it keeps the digitals honest

We went to Trader Joes today. First time I'd ever been in one. Neat store, but no fertile eggs! However, there are 1 or 2 local stores that sell fertile eggs, including duck eggs. I'm itching to try a bit of a challenge, so may pick some of those up to hatch in March, along with some shipped eggs from a BYC reader. It will be interesting to see what I get from my own flock this spring.

I have the same problem.
I have searched all the health food stores here too.

no they are newbie wannabes I only ever left one serama hatch and she was sold. ok bummer thanks! when is it TOO late to try age wise with chicks?
I haven't really had any that I trust to keep their chicks safe from other chickens. Mine are all in small groups..like one roo for two-four hens. If I could segregate a broody hen and give her just a couple to see how she reacts, I might try it. Only with a heat source available too though. I have a friend who has great luck with her broody Seramas when they are only in pairs. I'm not sure what too late would be...on one hand they will be better about bringing out the maternity instinct in the momma if they are really young, but on the other hand, if they are a little older they might withstand it better if she does something stupid...

It came down to 2 choices for me... the Genesis 1588 Deluxe, or the IncuView Deluxe. I thought about how much harder it is to keep styrofoam clean, and settled on the IncuView. Glad I did, but if I hadn't bought it, I would have bought the 1588 since the prices were comparable.

I will have to check my trader joes out or whole foods. Planning on hatching some chicks from one of those stores in the spring...which one has chicks that won't hatch yellow or be white as adults
