She stays fluffed up now,
She REALLY wants some eggs,
I don't know how many she can handle,
And I scooped her up as a chick, to clarify.

I like to give them 5 to start, make sure they don't roll them out. If she's THAT broody, she should easily do it. Had one that held 11 eggs, smaller hen too, hatched 9, other two weren't fertile.

I know!! I used to transport little animals all over the place. (Two seat plane, so nothing bigger than wolf size) Mostly wild things and rescue things. Sure would come in handy now for poultry things!! I still transport big animals by ground occasionally. That's how I got my flock of little EEs. I couldn't find any around here, so some day olds jumped in the truck on the way through KY.....

Let me know what you do with the broodies and chicks.....

I'd love some of those hitchhikin with me

I just took this picture
Not the best
ANYWAY @TJChickens DO YOU think this a OEGB , American game fowl, or what.
Probably mixed, I think.

I scooped her up off the side of the road.

She is broody the past 5-6 days

Trying to break her, cage above ground,
fan blows on her during the day
no view of nest box

Was thinking of giving her some eggs to make her happy, Whaddaya think, everyone.

Yep! Give her eggs

Don't want to waste a perfectly good broody cycle!
Is her comb a pea comb or dubbed? She's pretty. Wow, who finds a chick on the side of the road?

Coming home from a Serama show one time, I found a silkie rooster in the road about a half mile from my property. And there is nobody for miles with any chickens!

Therein lies the difference... I'm not talking about an on/off thermostat. I should have mentioned that earlier, and I apologize for not doing so. I am referring to a progressive thermostat and heater that ramps up or down depending on the need. These units offer unparalleled performance... even in un-insulated compartments. That'll cost you a nickle...

Ok, sorry we were talking about 2 different things.
I take the nickel back that I gave you in the other ovation. :gig

Pea Comb.
I know shes BEAUTIFUL.

There is a place where someone got busted for having too many chickens in the city so they just turned em out.
There are like FIFTY running around at any given time, chicks to adults.
