Well Sally I did say all parts. This includes the inside of the barrel. I just wanted to keep it clean and not go into detail. But my hands touch every part inside and out of the bod......... I mean gun.

Sally's been thinking about starting a new thread for a while, to divert most of the cutting up we do away from chicken-related subjects, She caught some heat earlier today from someone who's upset about it. He neglected to mention, however, that we've never yet failed to set aside the fun and respond seriously to a legitimate question

I kinda like the mix of chit chat and serious. More entertaining. I can't imagine trying to keep up with another thread! I'd probably have to drop the chit chat and that would be kinda sad.

I don't know, my flock frolicks outside with the drake and roosters unless we are below zero. they love the rain, snow all off it except below zero and high winds any time of year.

Funniest thing I've seen my hens do, much to the dismay of both roosters, is go fishing in the ditch with the drake

Mine do the same thing. More than half is covered, yet they sit in the rain. But, if a hose is involved, they scatter!!!!
I had a Jack Russell for a log time who I believe would have run through fire to get to a water hose; he loved water. I've seen him, as a young dog, jump tail-gate high to catch water running off the gate

some people seem to forget it sometimes takes a second to come up with an answer. Whenever some one gets on that needs help I step to the side till it's resolved. I've never seen someone not get the help they needed...I say that's total BS.

Quote: You are sure you have lice and not some sort of mite, if its mites its an entire different story. Lice are host specif and I think do the entire life cycle on one bird, they spread by contact bird to bird and they will die within 2-7 days if separated from the host. The chemical treatment you have should be repeated every 7-10 days until the nit numbers are low, and in doing so your killing the newly hatched generation that survived the previous treatment before they can grow to adulthood and lay more eggs.

As far as the coops, nest boxes and stuff, yes definitely clean them out, all those feathers dropping will carry and hold nits. I would personally use pyrethrum dust aka garden dust check ingredients at lowes or a garden center just to be safe. I actually use this and garden lime on the floor before I add in the shavings at EVERY clean out.

adding a bookmark I have that I found very thorough when I searched for scalyleg mite stuff for yokel... @LocalYokel @shahtir101

Thank you. My birds have little white bugs that crawl around on them that look like lice. So they probably are lice. I will look for the stuff you said.
