hope they all hatch for you . I have a hatching addiction . this is the first weekend since April 7th. that I don't have chicks hatching . trying to get the chicken off my back .

LOL, good luck getting that chicken off your back! We don't have the space for tons. I haven't tried selling chicks, just eggs ( for eating). I haven't tried selling or shipping fertile eggs yet either.

Also, let me be clear, shipped eggs are a whole different ballgame vs hatching out of my breeding pens. The last eggs I had shipped in, I ordered 36 BBS Orp eggs. Upon arrival, 7 were broke, and hatched 4. Yes, 4 out of 36 made it. 2 Blues, 1 Black and 1 Splash. Detached air cells and looked like USPS played soccer with the box. Now, we did drive 14 hours round trip for Ayam Cemani eggs just so we didn't risk the shipping aspect.

Looks like there are some good hatches happening right now!

I hope we didn't offend you, seriously we weren't meaning to... we live close to each other and have met IRL and are good friends, so we tend to joke a lot together...

You are right, shipped eggs are a whole 'nother ballgame, lol... I've done and am doing again, shipped Call ducks, now there's a challenge!

K have a redwood Leahy cabinet and he just bought some GQF's... just curious, what are yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Right now, we have about 180 layers all separated by breed/type and sell eggs to hatch as well as day olds. Very heavy March through August and then start slowing down through winter but still hatch to sell. Also right now and during the fall, I bring in new breeding replacements. Lots of chickens and then a pen of Khaki Campbell's and a pen of Guineas. Also have a big mixed pen for egg production that is not counted into the 180 number.

I don't ship eggs sell a lot though . raise the chickens to sell at the local livestock sale barn . keeps us in the green belt .I enjoy hatching its the feed bill I don't like .last weekends hatch I won't hatch again for a little while

No offense taken. I have made all of mine. I have 2 that are running four 72W light bulbs, bathroom exhaust fans, auto turning racks controlled with incubator ware house t-stats. The 3rd one is the same except running 2 heater fans instead of bulbs. Each cabinet is setup for 88 eggs per rack and 4 racks each. This time of year I don't fill them, but rather run on what I feel the demand will be. Spring and Summer I run loaded incubators and sometimes have a couple of local guys incubate for me too.

Hatchers are setup like the cabinets.
