Right now, we have about 180 layers all separated by breed/type and sell eggs to hatch as well as day olds. Very heavy March through August and then start slowing down through winter but still hatch to sell. Also right now and during the fall, I bring in new breeding replacements. Lots of chickens and then a pen of Khaki Campbell's and a pen of Guineas. Also have a big mixed pen for egg production that is not counted into the 180 number.

That's a lot of chicken feed . and lot chicken tending . a pen of Guineas has got to be loud . not sure my OH would like that .

That's what us farm kids do. Well not a kid any more, my youngest is a Senior. Those chickens have made my kids a lot of spending money. We have a lot of animals to tend to other than the fowl.

like whoever said it they are resting . I forget your starting into day twenty right . its been along day for me . day after tomorrow it should be done . or pretty much done . get the camera SS and crew will want pictures .

Farming is in the blood but also the heart wish it was all I did all the time now . during one of the construction booms here had to sell my cattle . got to busy working to tend them .hope to get some next year . thinking the price will come down some . if your living off farming your doing good.
