Morning y'all!! Sorry long time no post, went on a rescue mission last Saturday for an English bulldog...he's been eating up what's left of my time, between a kids, homeschooling, house duties and well life, I haven't had much time to do anything lol buuuuuut today is day 21, and so far nadda....hopefully soon....honestly I think I made a lot of mistakes this go round so I'll be truly surprised if anything hatches but I did learn a lot!! So that's a plus....

'mine are do to hatch today today too,all 21 that went into lockdown where alive..nothen yet today and 7 hours into day 21 no pipping noise or external pips

I have 5 in lockdown....I had some rocking yesterday and a little this morning but no noise or pips lol so far they're just being eggs

My new drakes got their blue pills back!! I have fertile Call duck eggs!!!

Right now, we have about 180 layers all separated by breed/type and sell eggs to hatch as well as day olds. Very heavy March through August and then start slowing down through winter but still hatch to sell. Also right now and during the fall, I bring in new breeding replacements. Lots of chickens and then a pen of Khaki Campbell's and a pen of Guineas. Also have a big mixed pen for egg production that is not counted into the 180 number.

trust me, they joke A LOT, and so do I if you didnt notice?

I don't ship eggs sell a lot though . raise the chickens to sell at the local livestock sale barn . keeps us in the green belt .I enjoy hatching its the feed bill I don't like .last weekends hatch I won't hatch again for a little while

WOO HOO! Friday night midnight; one egg has a small chip in it! I feel like a new mother...lol. Don't know what to do except 'LEAVE THEM ALONE!!' I removed a few duds last week. today is day 22 and I heard heartbeat in only 3 on day 18, So if I do it right, they hatch and I let them alone for 24 hrs? . my humidity is 58 and temp is 100. Anything I need to know or do right now? 2hrs later... PS AND NOW I hear it chirping!! hole still small, and the whole egg 'reacts' to the flashlight...so cool. juss lettin' it be.

I CANT WAIT FOR THE UPDATE!!!! LEAVE THEM ALONE!! YOU GOTTIT!!! humidity is a bit low I shoot 65-70 typically 70 if I have great size air cells 65 if I didnt loose enough but it sounds like your doing fine!!!! you got them coming out!

I am having little luck with the araucanas. Of the 6 left, only 2 were alive. 3 were blood rings and one looks like it quit about day 8 - 10. Of the 16 Marans eggs, pulled 3 clears, have 5 (or was it 4?) questionables that we couldn't see in too well that we marked with the sharpie as possible quitters. Of all the air cells, there was one marans egg that didn't seem like it had changed at all since day 7 candling. But the rest had. Quite odd...

And i marked the day 10 air cells on the marans out of habit with sharpie. Oops! maybe I should lay off the staggered hatching LOL!

so when the electric went out was when they were in a very early set stage? crap that stinks!
