Cut a piece of drinking straw and find some long screws and mount the fan in your bator then hook the wires to your 12 or 5v plug

Why would you not hook up the fan? I saw where someone sent you the link with specific instructions on how to hook it up; why don't you use it?

I may be wrong but I am under the impression the lid is stryrafoam so a couple of course wood screws should hold a fan, for on the cheap. Just trying to think of things he can easily obtain.

He can make due with hardware laying around the house.

Transfer the mounting holes, poke holes, stick fan in and mount, run wire out top, hook up and start your test run.
