We had to get rid of a heifer that kicked another right in the bag!

She bleed in the milk for a few weeks, we fed that to the hogs.

Some no knowin lady was there when we were milkin an wanted to buy "some of that good strawberry milk"

I figured blood had something to do with it.
How many head you milking? If you've got a "chocolate" cow you must have a mixed herd, or maybe Gurnsey or Swiss? This county produces more milk than any other in the state; mostly Holstein. Those Holstein bulls seem to all carry the "rank" gene.

Only 6 ATM
We are adding a couple stalls now
Mostly jersey
Some jersey Holstein mix

Holsteins will crank it out, but I like the jersey milk best

@LocalYokel

Good Saturday mornin' to you.
I see someone's called you "Loko"
I think I'll start calling you LOCO; seems to fit you perfectly.

Make sure your hands are warm before you start milking them onery cows; wouldn't want you to make an unexpected trip to the other side of the barn  :gig

we ask city folk that visit if they wanna milk the bull...

They are shocked! "Bulls have milk too?"

SURE DO! :lau

Good morning local the milk stories are hilarious. Not much going on here today got to get car smogged. It's supposed to rain for pretty much the next week. Great for water storage bad for keeping chickens dry.

For all us non cow people, what's the "rank" gene? In my mind I'm thinking that means he sires cows that produce stinky milk, but I figure it probably has some other meaning.

"Rank" refers to the bull's disposition; nasty with a capital N..not to be trusted at all. Most bulls, of any breed, shouldn't be trusted very far, but Holsteins seem to be one of the worst.
