Good morning all!!  To everyone dealing with storms right now, be safe!  I hope things don't get any worse!   We are currently at 54, with a high of 68 expected.  For all the California haters....that's why I live here.  I hate the politics, the taxes, the regulations and a lot of the people.....but I love the weather!!

@Sallysunshine  Congratulations on all the new babies - my cats especially loved the noisy brooder video - so did I - so cute!!!!

@LokelYokel - that is a lot of water!  Can chickens swim?  I hope that you are able to stay warm and dry!

@butterfliesdoku
 - I'm so sorry about the temp spike - I hope your eggs are ok!

To everyone that posted chicken pictures - THANK YOU!!  They are so beautiful!  Congratulations on all the new additions!

We survived the compliance officer visit - he never even mentioned the chickens.  We had them all out of view, but you could faintly hear them.  The case is closed, so we aren't expecting any follow up visits. :celebrate

So far, my 12 eggs in the 'bator are at day 21, and no pips and no hatching. I did use older eggs in this batch - so it could be that, or I did something horrible to the eggs between my last hatch and this one.  My temps in the still air lock down 'bator are steady at 100.5 - 101.5  depending on which thermometer, so maybe I'm just running them at too low a temp.   I'll give them another day or two, but I'm doubtful.:fl

:hugs

It's OK CH I can't lay eggs either and it don't bother me at all

He never really left,.....we moved the camper onto concrete and removed power, and cable and his cats. Guy didn't go inside, just walked around it. Brother has since moved back in to it.....Cable, power and cats are back in place. Blackout curtains on the windows....

Do you know how hard it is to get rid of a 1978 motorhome? The junkyards won't take it, the charities won't take it, the dump won't take it. Anyone have suggestions?

I'm afraid to check the incubator temps.

Digital on the floor said 92* It's by the water, and in a corner.

Tank thermometer one said 102 in the center and the second in the top right corner said 100*

That was when I finally put the eggs in. I've played with the temps for three days. Of course I wish I had gotten a real incubator. But I didn't, so that's a moot point. I am pretty darn sure I'll be getting a new incubator soon though.

Unless "someone" wants to make me a coolerbator.

I'm thinking Auroradream, but anyone will do. I've learned a lot in the past year. I don't have the mindset to learn to make the incubator.

Ugh! It's time to learn how to clean a chicken though. That I must learn!

Just a random thought here...actually all my my thought are random, so that's also a moot point, so: If you don't let your chickens get dirty, you don't have to clean them.

Just for that, you can come process the roosters for me!

Very funny. :p If that would get the guts out, I'd be happy.
