Well I do have 43 hens to choose from. I don't think those girls can handle being around all those males either! Every time I feed there's always a girl or two that get's ganged up on and sat on by 6+ roosters, one right after the other!
Can a particular egg be fertilized by more than one rooster, like dogs? Could make for some interesting eggs if they can

@Sally Sunshine - I am running between 30-33% now. That blue one reads high on temp and humidity...but it's highs are consistent with the two calibrated ones. Prior to this weekend, basically days 1-6, I was running higher at 38-45...then we went away and had the mini crisis, when Lord knows what things got down to. I've stabilized things around the lower 30's per your advice.
ok keep watch on air cells, sometimes images are deceiving

Ordering MORE chicks today. I think I have a problem.

My rir is dancing for my 13week old silkie. Could that possibility mean the its a hen? He hasn't played my 13 week old ee roo any attention.

Quick update then I need to get back out to the horses....

I got another shipment of Serama eggs from the same person who sent me these. They were a favor, so I'm not griping....

Believe it or not, there are two developing from this mess! I had to wash them in hot water to get all the slime off and they have saddle cells, but I'm giving them the best chance I can. Probably won't ever turn them.

So, the new batch was packed a bit better and nothing was broken, but out of 8 eggs, 4 are saddle cells and 4 are completely rolling. Set them all anyways.

Was thinking about putting some of my own in, but decided to hold off for the Easter HAL. Maybe I will put some on the 24 hour auction thread instead!

I will try to take pictures later of the last three bunches of Serama chicks and of the two baby pigeons.

@Sally Sunshine

OEGB hen nest update:
Malpo died. Swelling in head resolved, but definitely had a ruptured air sac (subcutaneous emphysema) and pretty sure it had a yolk sac infection. One hatched and two others died in the last few days.

I'm having trust issues with my thermometers and hydrometers. I recalibrated all of them and ran an empty bator for 2 days and they were all in sync now on day 4 one is reading 99 one is reading 100 and one is reading 102. I ordered all new ones last night and they will be here Thursday. I am so frustated I see a cooler in my very near future.
I have trust issues period

Quote: I have been known to stack the first week, knowing that some are inferts or DIS. but I always move them around during hand turning daily.... that is a huge difference, rotating often during turning at least 5x day
