Like pulling an engine isn't work!
it's not too bad I've pulled I don't know how many engines in my life....but my body can't do what it used to do. So I'm slow and taking allot of breaks. And having to be real easy on my shoulders. Back in the day I'd have had that motor out in a few hours by myself. I'll be feeling it when I get up tomorrow.
Makes me wish I had a garage of my own though. My friend keeps his at 70 degrees....I'd love to be working on my Firebird this time of year.

oh how sweet!!!

what in the world!!  good grief son you have them   what do you mean like 102 103  which is it?

day seven?  Good luck!!!  how are your other chicks looking? the brahma?

Day 15, 7 eggs. My older brahmas are doing good but I lost 1. I have 1 rooster and 2 pullets left from those babies. They are the sweetest birds I've ever had. My blue female comes running to me already when she sees me. I also have 1 choc orp from that hatch and 1 barred/buff orp around the same age. My blue Cochins are 5 weeks now and so adorable. I'll get pics on Sunday when I clean the coop :)

he should teach chicken math cause he is the reason I have chickens too. He was incubating eggs in his classroom. When the chicks were almost ready to hatch one of the kids in his class played with it and cooked the eggs.  I bought three chicks from calranch so he could show his students.  then he brought those chicks to my house. Those were my first chickens

I've my dad to blame for the math. Years ago stores used to give away chicks at Easter time. Of course they were all roosters and we had to get rid of them. He then got us kids a RIR pullet how the thing survived I'll never know. The only chick it was raised by itself we must have kept it company because it didn't die as some lone chicks will do. It was my sisters chicken until she got tired of it not laying any eggs. The day after she gave it to me the hen started laying. I fed her snails out of the garden every day. 6 -7 eggs a week. Mom bought them from me for 5 cents each. That hen taught me more about life than I realized at the time. Book keeping feeding care etc.. Fun times.

@Sally Sunshine My update. 16 eggs in the incubator as a first test hatch from my flock: Russian Orloffs and Half-Orloffs. Initial humidity 38%, will candle and adjust on Sunday. Hatch is due on 2/14 - Valentine's Day. Four were pulled from the fridge and will be a day later, if they are good.
Thank you Fri!!!

I was going to suggest thompson's. good product low to no VOC's and it is not an oil based product. that's what i was planning on using on the interior of my cabinet.

Thompson's Water Seal is good for decks & such, but I'd contact the manufacturer, tell them your application, and determine if it would be safe for use around eggs & chicks.

This is a fast paced forum!!!
Thanks
