Hello everyone good morning.

I need help guys!!!! My Silkie had poop caked all over her but and she has been really droopy. I soaked her and cleaned her off. I found that her butt is leaking poop. So I have been slowly and gently removing poop from her butt! Very stinky btw. But I am having trouble trying to figure out if she egg bound or just constipated!!!

Well, went 44 out of 50 out of my mixed pen. All chicks healthy and getting around good. Pulled them out of the hatcher at 6am this morning and moved to the brooder. Out of the 6 that didn't hatch, 5 quit early and blood ringed and 1 quit after lockdown. All the parents in the mixed pen are pure bred and all hatched off my breeders. There are splash orp's, black orp's, buff orp's, light Brahma's, and barred rocks. They are covered by barred rock and blue orp Roos. This is the pen we sell eating eggs from most of the time.

Update on my hatch...10 out of 20 hatched. It was a 3 day hatch. Started Friday and ended Sunday. My last baby hatched last light and needed help. It got stuck in the egg. It was very weak and I didn't think it would make it. It looked better this morning and by this afternoon it was put with the rest of the chicks. This hatching chicks can get pretty stressful. I opened the other eggs from the air cell ends and all were dead

that is very sad but I'm happy with the ones that did hatch.

Ewww, I'm not sure what to do. Did you squeeze around on her to see if you could feel an egg? Try inserting the tip of your finger (gloved and lubed, please) and see if you feel anything?

Well,.......my finger will not fit in there. hahahahahahaha!!!!!! i am using the end of one of my crochet hooks....not the hooked end. She is currently eating and drinking. So we are taking a break on poop scooping.

I can feel a mass just above her pubic bone but it does not feel hard. it is rather soft.

Could that be an egg you're feeling, before it hardens? Not sure where it hardens prior to being laid.

I decided to cull the four,couse i thought that it was not fair to keep the alive if they couldnt live a happy and healthy life..had four eggs left in bator at day 23 three died probably day 19 on left,and it the one with the air cell on the side it pipped internally last night and externally this morning have 13 fine babys..
