Bite your tongue! No signs of it yet but it has been getting colder. It's not too bad until Jan into Feb when it gets down to -10 or more with the wind chill. The bad time is the 3 weeks or so when it stays there.
The ski areas are about an hour away. I don't ski. My idea of a good time is not freezing, falling down a hill and breaking bones.
I have thin blood, my idea is to wait for you at the lodge in front of a roaring fireplace with a huge mug of hot chocolate. Lol

I've got an even better idea: Stay the h--- home in front of the woodstove, play on the computer, & let them other, younger fools get out there, freeze their buns off, & break multiple bones in the process. No thanks...I pass.
Good Morning Chicken hawk, I pray your hangin in there. I am sure this is emotional for you.
I have been really sad about it and I know it touched quite a few others as well. This is my fault too you know, I should have been very aware by now that some of these bators have grate issues. I get so upset with these styro bators, and there touchy thermostats, there faulty thermometers and hygrometers, lousy instructions. You would think the company that makes them would at least put a grate in them so a chick can hatch safely! That's like putting socks on shoes!
I will go read the thread and see if you have given us updates. I wanted to let you know how proud I am of you that you got such a great hatch. You sure did those eggs good didn't you son?
I cant wait to see more pictures of the chicks, I would love to see that pretty spotted one and the eagle one, with the white head!
Hey,ms sally well the four eggs that where left thrree died probably day 19,the last one in the bator is the one with the air cell on the side,it internaly pipped last night, and is externally pipped this morning

I am glad you checked on them CH! good job! so one last chick is possible later tonight!!
This is fantastic!!! How are the other chicks doing? and lil piggy I bet is growing fast too!
I would love to see all the babies if you get time today!! Do you want to talk of the 4 sick chicks?
If not thats ok, I understand.
I have good news too! I sold all my hatch as a lot last night! saved me from selling them as sets!
Thats always nice! Even the three itty bitty cute serama went with their big brothers and sisters!
Oh and send me a pic of that pip too! and is it ok if I share this message with the folks waiting on the thread dying to see how its going with you? its easier for us to communicate this way I think? let me know ok?
I uptaded everyone i endded deciding too cull them, couse i did not want them living a life where they could not be happy and they wiuld be in pian.here are the others.and piggy is growing fast.
So we are trying to help the three thats left one of the four died.we put a banded on there legs and there drinking the Pedialyte.how should there legs looks when bandaged
a clean sponge cut into a very small wedge (i use make up wedges for baby puppies, you will have to go tiny)
dip it in the gatoraide and just enough that it wont actually drip in the mouth just wet the whistle. then you wont asperate them.

I am not sure, I think you should try to find some local eggs to practice on. are you on your local thread on byc yet? to see if anyone local has eggs you can get? also they may have trader joes available at the grocery store, and sometimes the locals that sell eggs for eating down the road are good for hatching too, you just have to ask what breeds the have and talk to them about it.
if you think this hatch was stressful, incubating shipped eggs is horrible.. you get less than 50% of them to hatch, and I am telling you its hard.
