I'll repost it here though for those who don't follow it: I'm 145 hours (or 6 days, 1 hour) and 26 minutes in!!
my very first chicks were murdered by my Siberian husky. We had them for 2 weeks and they were so bonded with us that it was amazing. 5 minutes alone and she broke into our, what we thought was secure brooder. Every one of them was dead. My terrier mix helped kill them because she was doing it. To this day, all our chicks are brooded in our bedroom for the first week or two, then moved to a big garage brooder. Our husky has to be supervised and leashed 100% of the time that she is outside when the chickens are out. The terrier competely ignores all the chickens now though you can see him twitch a little if a little chick flutters around him. Both of them are old (11 and 12). Our third dog is a young English Bulldog x rottie mix. She's so gentle and trustable with the flock. Half the time, if we can't find her, we look for the birds lol. But, then again, she thinks they're walking "treat" dispensers bleh!
