Ha ha! Thanks Sally! My mom makes me a crustless pumpkin pie every year for my birthday! It's my favorite!Hey @ambe0487![]()
We used to leave small doggie door usable so our pair of Jack's could come and go as they pleased. Well, great idea in theory. It's been permanently closed for several years. We've have snakes, rats, possums, etc brought into the house so they could show off their prizes. And yes, he's a mousing fool. Those Jacks can mouse.
True story, my wife wasn't feeling well one day and was laying on the couch all snuggled in watching some TV. That was, until Gator bailed up in the middle of her with about a 4' bull snake. I think that was the final straw on the doggie door. LMAO
Would love to have seen that. There is a horse stable here that was having a major mouse problem. They kept a bunch of cats to keep the mice down. One day somebody brought in her Jack Russell. That little dog tore through the hay stack and killed mice non-stop all day. Totally put the cats to shame.
Hello Everyone! Hope your bellies are full and your hearts are happy this evening! I came home to find my malpositioned pipper still sitting in it's egg, so I went ahead and did a full assist. The membrane was actually quite pliable and soft, the blood vessels were nice and closed, but the wing was glued to the chicks head. That was it! Once I unglued the wing, the chick kicked reared up its head and started moving like crazy, I quick popped it back into Uglybator and it kicked out the rest of the way and is biffing around inside. Looks good.![]()
I have three other pips and a fourth that is zipping. It's been zipping for at least an hour now (it was already zipping when I came home so who knows how long it's actually been going)...about 1/4 to 1/3 of the egg is zipped and it is very wiggly and squiggly and loud. I am frustrated though, as I feel I did something wrong to cause the chicks to be having difficulties hatching. It's too long of a zip, isn't it? :/ I don't want to assist! I just want them to pop out on their own!!! I was hoping to come home to some fuzzy butts, but all I came home to was superglue chick. >sigh<
Alright! I need to be positive!!! Four blue eggs have not pipped and neither have the Serama, but I think I might have heard a Serama cheep, so there is hope!
Uglybator jumped o 90% humidity when the first chick kicked out. Is that ok????

lol!!!!I had a 5' long black snake come into the house on its own through the doggie door. My dog was standing at the top of the steps, cocking his head. I knew something was up. Next thing I knew, it was slithering down the hallway.
New house now, doggie door goes to enclosed porch, then doggie opening out of the porch. Chickens sometimes find their way through the outside one, onto the porch, but haven't had anything else get inside. Yet.
I have serama locking down this weekend. and then I had put those eggs I was getting one by one CCL and then those other serama in when you did.Sally, my ducks and chicks will be due Dec 15th. 7 duck eggs, 18 chicken eggs at this point.
