If he wants a chance at live chicks he doesIf you can't wait, start cracking them open. That'll speed things up. You can see the chicks a lot sooner that way... but they probably won't be chirping, moving, breathing, and stuff like that. Still can't wait???
No he doesn't...![]()

Poor planning on my part. I have eggs going in to lock down today, but I wasn't planning on going home tonight. Special trip just to move them over. Should be home in time to see them hatch on Friday. Next batch goes in to lock down on the 18th, I'm leaving town on the 19th, not going to be home until the 23rd....I'll miss the entire hatch!
I need to pick hatch dates and count backwards on when to set them!
Sorry you are having so much trouble @slordaz and @Studio Chick in stabilizing temps. I'm forcing myself to increase my temps to levels that go against everything I think is correct, trying to get my chicks to hatch on time, rather than late. I hope that you both get yours steady!
My silkies are 9 months old, they have been laying fertile eggs for about 2 1/2 months. There are NO signs that any of the girls are going to go broody. At what age to chickens usually start going broody?I'm really wanting to get some silkie or Cochin hens so I can have some broodys. But also want some Bielefelders
