Hey all. Set 29 eggs in the hatcher this morning. AND!!! My doe kidded yesterday!!!

She was a month ahead of what I thought. So it was a big surprise to say the least.

Congrats, they're very cute!

My kid with the kids! We put them in their half of the barn last night but I think it was too cold for them. We're going to keep them in the dog crate on the porch (smaller space and more sheltered) at night until they get a little bigger. But they'll still go to the barn during the day.
Too much cuteness!

Muscovies can breed with what I call "quackers".

Thanks! Knew they'd be mule ducks. I went back and read, and I guess what I saw was just saying that the Crested couldn't pass on the crested gene to the Muscovy, which I already knew. I originally had 3 of these eggs in the incubator, and all 3 were fertile. Now I have a total of 9. I was hoping they were from my Muscovy hen, but oh well. I just won't incubate any more of them.
