Sadly the black Silkie didn't make it that I tried to help but the paint is doing fine. I hatched out 2 white silkies and a splash Ameraucana. My first ever hatch is doing great so far. 30 more eggs to go lol

Good afternoon, everyone, except for those in the west, which require a good late morning!

Watching the weather closely today, and it appears that it may get a little rough this afternoon and into the evening hours. I noticed on radar that there are already three tornado warnings in south LA, and it looks like that particular patch of the storm is headed directly towards my house. Hoping and praying that everyone in it's path will stay safe...

Edit... make that FOUR tonado warnings in souther LA and MS. Things are starting to rock with this storm!

@Sally Sunshine 30 turkey eggs in lockdown now.

Even with the incubator failure the other day, there was still a lot of movement in those eggs. It looks like they may be a day late though but I'm thrilled they're still alive. The hatch will be the true test.

A nice older gentleman came and bought 13 of my chicks for $2 a peice. I was sad to see them go, but I think they'll have a good home. I always worry about how well they're taken care of after they leave my house, but I try not to think about it too much. He wants to buy more from my hatch that goes into lockdown tomorrow.

I see a pip! but...it's facing down not up, I'm sure it will be fine, but I worry.

is it malpositioned or in the upper fat end?

Is there a maximum dimension for the viewing window relative to the size of the bator?

CONGRATS!!!!

Locked down. Temp stable but therms are wrong. Hygrometers are reading 60 and 70%.Can't wait for Friday. They lost 15% of weight. I didn't mark air cells. One looked too big. One looked too small. The rest were good. I have 12 eggs in lockdown. One was clear. One was early loss. One was late loss. Two of the remaining 12 are too dark for me to see whether they're developed or not. The ten Brabanter and Pavlovskaya-5 each- left are all full of veins and embryos.

Its to help air flow in the bator... not sure if its needed or not
