as far as I know you are correct, others dispute the issue that others have imported first. I gave up with all that banter.

Good morning all! Miss you!! I have been dealing with sick kiddos all week. Sorry I have been gone for so long! I do have eggies in the bator and some in the mail. I will give updates today after work. This picture reminded me of you all

2 marans and 4 Olive eggers are going into the the bator-in-the-box for lockdown! 4 marans and 2 Olive eggers are on day 10.

@Sally Sunshine On your cabinet bator why did you feel the need to add the air flow return thingy on the back? Is that because it was so tall or was it something you saw somewhere? I've looked at cabinet incubator pics and it doesn't seem like the commercial ones have something like that. To me it just looks like the fan pulls in incubator air from were ever it wants. Although I did see a couple homemade things that the fan was just pulling in outside temp air.
look at detail images of cabinet incubators chaos, not really sure

Marking off fixtures. Aside from hieght from eggs and space from roof, do the lights need to be on a specific side? And temp control will be mounted with next to those correct?
to be honest, keep the lights as far up as you can even if you have to add cut cans or heat block of some sort so your lid doesnt get hot. make sure the fan blows accross the bulbs but just below them so you dont get hot spots under them
@attimus

3 pips last night! 2 hatched early morning, one zipping now. One egg still no pip.
DOING AWESOME!!!! KEEP IT UP!!

@tao chickgood luck and may it be a quick hatch.
@chicknloveI hope everyone is well soon, and you get to rest.
@Sally Sunshine the roos are a bummer, especially since I just want to breed crosses. I hope to find a good line and raise a roo.
Update. Hatch 1: 3 ccl, 7 Swedish flower hens, and 8 EE that were set on the 7th. Hatch 2: set 2/22 12 Ameruacana, and 2 blue black splash English Orpingtons
Replacement chicks ordered for next week.

Good luck to you too! What color Ameraucana?

I set up the brooder. I played chick sounds to the incubator. And I still have about 24 hours.
Must bake. Or start some chicken cordon bleu for dinner. Or anything to stay out of the room the incubator is in.

@sally sunshine thanks, plan on using cut cans, think I got the height figured, do they need to be placed on a specific side relative to the temp control location. I was going to place them an even distance apart on the front of the box with the temp control in the top right corner. Then I could mount the fan on the interior right to blow across them, all sound OK?

happy busy work :)
I don't know what color. The lady I hatch with knows her and went for the eggs. I just want blue egg layers first color is not my priority.

Thanks! I'll check out Hoover, I have been wondering how they were.
The Denaguard STILL isn't here, so I don't think I'll set my eggs for the HAL. Neighbor might have some though, and I'm setting my 2 bantam eggs... Just in case! ;)

they were very nice and ship free with 25 or more, and you can mix lots of breeds if you want. They vaccinate too if you want so I vaccinated for Mereks at 20¢ each.

I ordered a mess to replace some of my birds, fill out numbers because I only kept a few from my Christmas hatch which I have kept inside changed, washed, and not handled to keep free. 12 pullets 1 cockrel RIR (listed seperated from the production reds, but not heritage),3 Barred Rocks, 4 Welsummer, 4 white and 3 brown Leghorn (to make Sapphires), 3 silver laced Wyandotte, 2 golden comments, 2 female and 2 male rainbow, 2 red ranger to compare meat. Four Lavender Orpingtons.
Then I have Sapphire, EE and ccl eggs still coming after the two hatches in now, and true heritage RIR.
In a year or two I will have just my RIR and what I choose as a second breed or two.
