They would do real well in Alaska. They actually take hot and cold well. They are a landrace breed from Iceland.
Pretty much any Russian or Nordic breed would work great for Alaska I imagine. Most of my favorite birds are French, German, and Netherlands breeds, perfect for Belgian climates.

My blue silkie hen that the rooster will have nothing to do with has gone broody and is sitting on a bunch of eggs. She is only 9 months old and she is the first of my silkies to go broody. What's the chance she will actually hatch these chicks?

Let's hope she has better luck than I have been having in my incubator!!.

Might as well let her try... She really has nowhere to go but up compared to DeathBator's record... For the record- you have another Brahma and 3 partridge silkies with 1 zipping and 3 more pipping
