Mainly for Sally, but open to everyone else too-
I'm calibrating thermometer, am I doing it right? It's said 32.2 for a couple minutes now.
looks correct, now add probe and see what it compares to with your bator temps

hope your well mira!

It looked good enough to eat. This is what I thought early quitters looked like:

-Kathy
There are all sorts of appearances of early quitters. A lot happens in the first few hours.
The other one looked to quit within hours.

The ones in this post are good enough to eat too. Ever see a balut egg?

Fertile or infertile?

-Kathy
That is infertile, there is no die off of the cells in the center. That's what creates the halo effect.

check it with the bator now, I swear these thermo hygros will annoy us all until we finally purchase quality ones that have little to no variance! I am waiting for my thermoworks to get here!

I'll set all of them. Have one now that might be fertile, 'cause they are mating now. Did you know that peafowl make a noise right before they mate? Heard it a couple of time last week, and same them do "it" on Saturday, so maybe I'll start getting some fertile eggs now.

Hi All, Just curious, my DIS eggs I pulled out of the bator were left a little too close to the edge of the counter and my dog ATE THEM. These were full term, most likely shrink wrapped chicks. She hasn't thrown them up. She ate 5 of them. Does anyone see any health risks for that? This is the pup that ate them....
If she hasn't passed them for a while how much does she weigh do u have peroxide 3 percent

I bet she's eaten worse! Had you opened them to see at what stage they expired? If so, if they weren't stinkers, she just had some raw balut!
I had opened up their air cell and they were full size, possibly shrink wrapped. I didn't throw them away immediately, because I was thinking about opening a few of them tonight to see if they were malpositioned or not. None of them stunk, they were gross though.

I can't imagine the bones will digest - will they come out whole? My last dog loved crayons....made for colorful dog droppings.
