Only thing I could think of is you have them wired in series. They need to be wired in parallel. Polarity does matter on these fans also. Make sure you have all of the positives wired together and all of the negatives wired together.

It could also be possible that the power supply you are using doesn't have the amperage rating it needs to start both of those motors at the same time. Check the rating on the power supply. Electric motors tend to take more power to start than to run. If you're power supply is rated at 300ma that is not enough to start both fans at the same time.

both fans are connected to the adaptor wire at separate points. And both connected to the same sides of wiring. I tried looking for a simple diagram of parallel vs. Series.

The formula to figure whether there is enough power from the power supply is:
Amp rating on power supply minus the sum of all the fans amp ratings(if wired in parallel). If this number is negative the power supply is too weak to run those Items. Most computer fans use between .12 and .3 amps depending on size and speed and other factors (LEDs). Check your fans to see what the required current is. 300ma is equal to .3a

I hope you will all forgive me for all these quotes. I'm working on a coolerbator build, and also planning to wire 2 fans to a single charger. So, hoping hubby can read all of this and figure out the wiring for me. Thanks for all of the timely information!

We can actually find that here. We have big stores that offer all kinds of crazy things. I can also (go figure) find it in a local store.
