INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

Ok, I know that there is someone else out there that used a fish tank air supply/bubbler, run through warm water to add warm, moist air....that's where I got the idea from. I used it in my last hatch. Considering the previous 3 hatches were HORRIBLE - probably due to low temps. My next eggs, I upped the temps during a staggered hatch. The oldest eggs (least amount of time at the higher temps) 1 out of 13 hatched. The next batch, a bit longer at the higher temps, I added the warm moist air at lock down. I had 5 out of 12 hatch - 1 had to be culled, and 1 died due to a prolapsed something. Last batch (longest time at higher temps) that got locked down 4 days early (with the warm moist air), 4 out of 4 hatched.

So, I think the raise in temps in my incubator helped the most. But I think the added oxygen did too. At what point is extra oxygen helpful? I know you block the air vents early days to restrict oxygen, when I open those vents, can I also add my warm air? What day should I remove the vents? Day 18?

Thanks!!

oh you guys/gals will get pictures, I finaly firgured out how to use the camera on the phone, getting some new saws and maybe a trailer to bring in wood and wire, mama should have never told me do what you wanna do, her fault not mine

I'll post here too because it's cool.
Do I need to help it or wait??
@campingshaws whatcha do?

Hey y'all, I need some help. I have an Ancona duckling that hatched out yesterday, and it has a messed up foot. I should've taken pictures before I tried to splint it, but it's too late now and it took me too long to do to unwrap it now. The way it's holding it looks like a slipped achilles, but the achilles looks fine. It's what I guess is a tendon that runs down the front of the leg and into the middle toe that appears to be messed up. I doesn't want to hold straight, and there's definitely a little bit of tension when I straighten it out. Does anyone have any ideas? Right now I have a peice of cardboard bandaged like a shoe and it's lower leg wrapped.
@HeatherMarieR update?

Sorry you had to cull it, but thanks for sharing the pictures. -Kathy

I also made an air whole in them because my family keeps opening the incubator and I think it's what's causing the air cells to collapse and suffocate the chicks and if that don't work then I geuss I am going to have to tap the whole incubator shut with duck tape
