Probably means I should lockdown around now, because I won't be home for 10 more hours and even then I only have an hour before I have to leave... Again. :he

Not the greatest day for lockdown!!

I'm gonna be checking for drawdown now....

Good morning, Bubbles! Sounds like you may have an over-achiever in the bator! If temps ran a bit high, it's possible to have an early hatch. Day 18 is a good bit ahead of schedule, but it's possible. I wouldn't expect it to try hatching until tomorrow, but stranger things have happened. Congratulations... you're about to be a mommy!!!

Also one more question... the one that first zipped has been trying to push out for about 30 mins now.. is that normal?
As long as it's breathing and making an effort to get out, let it be. If the shell is open and it hasn't kicked out in a few hours, you may have to assist. Don't want to intervene too early, as it may still be absorbing the yolk... and you don't want to open the bator unless absolutely necessary. Patience, grasshopper...

Good morning!! :weee

I did have temps on the high side, as I wasn't able to bump it down .5 of a degree without it swinging to 100. And these are bantams.....

OH YEAH!!!!!! :weee :yiipchick

@Sally Sunshine

you know why a broody hen pecks your hand during a hatch if you try and reach under her... Because what's under the skirt is no one's business but hers. Lol.

@Sally Sunshine
Bantams sometimes hatch early. I'd rather see early than late.
